Position Summary
The Marsh McLennan Philippines Controller is responsible for the overall Controllership activities in Philippines. The role is reporting directly to ASEAN Controller.
Main responsibilities:
Overall responsibility for USGAAP and local accounting and timely financial reporting. This includes relevant insurance broker accounting.
Management of financial internal controls and ensuring that internal controls are operating effectively (e.g., SOX compliance, approval procedures, legal issues, and MM directives).
Liaise with internal and external auditors, regulators and coordinate year-end statutory audit and tax financial requirements to ensure compliance at various levels.
Provide leadership to the Philippines finance function and ensure overall direction from the Asia region is cascaded down to local teams.
Challenge existing financial and operational procedures; devise and implement improvements; streamline financial and operational procedures.
Develop and mentor Philippines finance staff.
Ensure that appropriate team structures, development plans, succession plans, and talent management plans are in place.
Provide direction/support to various projects in Philippines including but not limited to financial system implementation, real estate decisions, acquisition/divestments, banking/treasury and strategic initiatives.
Understanding of Oracle Financials and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) Provide technical advice, commentaries and recommendations at all levels, as the financial representative to the country management team Partner with Financial Planning & Analysis groups to provide accurate and timely financial information assist with forecast & budget preparation.

10 years post-qualification experience
Proven people manager
Strong project management skills with ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Positive attitude with an ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment
Initiative and sound judgement to make appropriate and timely decisions
Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate at all levels. Translate finance into business language and manage people.
Understanding of Oracle Financials and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)
Exposure to insurance practice accounting in Philippines
Exposure to USGAAP accounting
