Job Overview: The Costing Analyst is responsible for analyzing, estimating, and managing the costs associated with garment production and ensuring market competitiveness. This role involves collaborating with various teams within the company to ensure that production costs are optimized without compromising quality or shipment schedules.
Key Responsibilities: * Cost Estimation: Calculate and estimate the cost of producing garments, considering materials, labor, overhead, and additional expenses.
Supplier Negotiation: Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate prices for materials and services, striving for cost reductions while maintaining quality standards.
Bill of Materials (BOM): Review and analyze the initial and final BOMs of each garment, including all components, labor requirements, and associated costs. Likewise, verify if all guard rails were met.
Cost Analysis: Regularly review production costs and analyze cost variances to identify areas for cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
Production Planning: Work closely with production planners and merchandisers to align cost estimates with production plans and schedules.
Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor pricing to ensure competitiveness in pricing strategies.
Documentation: Maintain accurate cost data records and update pricing information as necessary.
Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports to management on cost-related performance metrics, cost reduction initiatives, and cost forecasts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Previous experience in costing or financial analysis within the garment or textile industry is highly desirable.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Knowledge of garment production processes and materials.
Detail-oriented and capable of working independently.
Cost accounting principles are a plus.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
