You will help your team to ensure all associated costs in the design and project implementation is considered in the cost estimates as well as efficient cost planning and commercial management throughout the entire life cycle including risk management. The individual will be responsible for reviewing cost estimates developed by estimators, and contractors. From the review, the Cost Estimator will support the project teams with reconciling any major differences between the estimates and the reviews.
He/she will provide project managers with recommendations for updating current working estimates, participate in value engineering workshops, evaluate cost proposals for changes, and assist with contract negotiations as directed. The Cost Estimator will support evaluations of contractor requests for payments and advise senior Program Management leadership on construction cost trends. He/she will report to the Program Cost Manager.
Minimum qualifications for this position will include at least relevant years of experience working in cost estimating and cost control positions for capital infrastructure projects. At least 5 years of this experience must be related to preparing cost estimates for building and site work projects. Must demonstrate experience with cost estimating software.
Estimating experience in the Philippines or Southeast Asia is highly desirable. Some management experience preferred. Must have a four-year college degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management.
Estimating certifications/training will be favorably considered.
