Duties and Responsibilities
1. Budget management: The hotel cost controller is responsible for creating and managing the hotel's budget, and ensuring that all departments are adhering to it. They must analyze and control expenses, investigate variances, and take corrective actions when necessary.
2. Inventory management: The hotel cost controller must manage the hotel's inventory, including ordering and maintaining adequate stock levels. They should monitor and track inventory levels, and identify any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
3. Cost analysis: The hotel cost controller must analyze the costs associated with running the hotel, and identify areas where cost savings can be made. They should provide regular reports and analysis to the hotel's management team to help inform decision-making.
4. Accounts payable and receivable: The hotel cost controller is responsible for managing the hotel's accounts payable and receivable. This includes processing invoices and payments, tracking expenses, and reconciling accounts.
5. Compliance and regulations: The hotel cost controller must ensure that the hotel is compliant with all financial regulations and requirements. They should also stay up-to-date with any changes to financial regulations that may affect the hotel's operations.
6. Communication: The hotel cost controller should communicate effectively with all relevant departments and personnel, providing guidance and support when needed. They should work closely with the hotel's management team to ensure that financial goals are aligned with overall business objectives.
