BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The Cost Accountant Assistant Manager play a crucial role in businesses by supervising and evaluating the costs associated with expenditures and acquisitions made by the organization. He/she examine the services and products, maintain records of relevant data, and provide suggestions regarding cost-effective and economically viable alternatives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assisting the head of finance in developing and implementing cost accounting policies and procedures;
Conducting cost analysis and identifying cost-saving opportunities for the company;
Maintaining and updating cost accounting records and database, including inventory, standard costing and variance analysis;
Conducting cost analysis such as distribution costs, cost to serve, and cost of goods sold;
Conducting internal audits of cost accounting processes and systems, and making recommendations for improvements;
Coordinating with other departments, such as operations, production and purchasing to ensure accurate and timely cost data;
Providing support and guidance to other members of the finance team;
Assisting the financial analyst in preparation of budgets and forecasts;
Keeping up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices and ensuring compliance with relevant standard.
SKILLS
Analytical thinker with strong and problem-solving skills;
Proficient and understand cost accounting principles;
Ability to observe and understand business processes; ensure processes are documented completely and accurately;
Experience in NetSuite systems and/or any accounting software/system is a plus;
Well-versed in operating MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and their Google Suite counterparts;
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
