Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley Requirements, and internal controls, aligning with company and departmental procedures.
Utilize Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to mitigate risks of misstatements or misappropriations.
Reconcile general ledger accounts meticulously, analyzing transactional detail to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
Investigate and rectify errors and inconsistencies in financial entries and reports, maintaining data integrity.
Compile and meticulously analyze financial information to ensure accuracy and completeness for decision-making purposes.
Prepare journal entries based on reconciliations and analytics to correct transactional errors, supporting financial accuracy.
Lead the month-end close process, including the preparation of monthly reporting packages and management financial briefings.
Mentor and train junior accountants, overseeing their development, and manage projects effectively.
Analyze budget performance for assigned departments monthly, presenting findings and recommendations to department leadership.
Prepare financial reports such as balance sheets and profit and loss statements, interpreting current and projected financial positions for management.
Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers to substantiate transactions prior to settlement, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
Maintain responsibility for key Accounting functions, including cash management, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
Manage internal resources efficiently to meet Accounting group objectives, ensuring quality standards and cross-functional relationships.
Resolve accounting challenges promptly, ensuring minimal impact on various functional areas of the company.
Drive positive change by identifying issues, proposing solutions, and implementing improvements effectively.
Provide solutions to complex problems, anticipating potential control issues, and effectively interfacing with audit staff.
Serve as a subject matter expert on generally accepted accounting principles and financial accounting standards, ensuring compliance and best practices.
Lead process improvement initiatives, streamlining procedures, and recommending enhancements for efficiency.
Develop procedures for new processes and assist in system transitions, ensuring smooth operations.
Interface with other departments to understand their impact on financials and implement process improvements collaboratively.
Conduct research on accounting and financial reporting issues, communicating conclusions to management effectively.
Assist management in reviewing work provided by team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Stay updated with accounting field trends and best practices, attending continuing education sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
5 years of experience in accounting or related field & GL accounting
Proficiency in GAAP
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
