Provides counsel in all departments on a variety of complex issues. Identifies, researches and analyzes legal issues that affect the Company and its activities at the local and state levels associated with its activities, ongoing operations and strategic initiatives.
Drafts, reviews and assists in the negotiation of contracts, agreements, memorandum of understanding and other legal forms for the company ensuring compliance and protection of company's interest.
Safekeeps and ensures confidentiality of all legal documents of the Company.
Provides legal representation to the Organization.
Communicates and negotiates with external parties - regulators, external counsel, public authority, etc.)
Reviews existing legislation, rules and regulations related to the company and ensures compliance.
Interprets and advises employment legislation. Provides legal recommendations and hearings for labor cases.
Applies effective risk management techniques and offers proactive advice on possible legal issues.
Defines work expectations and ensures work progress of Human Resources staff by monitoring, controlling activities, evaluating performance, enforcing discipline when necessary, and initiating career enhancement activities / programs especially designed for the staff's career development.
Develops, submits for approval annual plans and programs, targets and/or budgets, directs their implementation and monitors progress to ensure attainment in accordance with Corporate direction.
Acts and decides on all concerns, issues and problems in the course of the Department's operation; and recommends action and resolution for concerns, issues and problems beyond his scope of authority.
Graduate of bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Legal Management, Economics and/or other related courses.
Candidate must possess a Professional License in Law and a Member of the Philippine Bar
Minimum of five (5) years work experience preferably as a Corporate Lawyer and atleast in supervisory level (will manage a small team: Paralegal, Legal Officers)
Experience in handling IT contracts a plus.
Extensive knowledge on law, legal procedures and protocols and court system
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to understand complex legal concepts and analysis and translate those to non-lawyers to create practical processes, guidance and training
Extensive knowledge and background on contract review and management, employment law and corporate governance
Strong project management skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Business Understanding:
- Competent in drafting pleadings, letters, contract reviews, document review and editing, etc.
- Paralegal work in corporate inhouse legal department.
