The opportunity:
Highly visible individual contributor role, working closely with local executive leadership of the Corporate Centers, Philippines (location Operating Committee exposure role)
Support critical projects (and independently manage your own) focusing on adherence to firm-wide control programs, and key focus areas for the location.
Leverage data to drive optimal decisions and outcomes
Build your professional network with leaders in the location (and beyond)

Key accountabilities:
Ensure the successful execution of the controls program across Manila and Cebu, covering approximately 17,000 employees across four (4) lines of businesses (Consumer and Community Banking, Corporate and Investment Bank, Asset and Wealth Management and Commercial Banking), as well as our corporate functions.
Successful delivery of our executive control reporting requirements
Leverage data to ensure proactive identification, management, and closure of key risks in our operating environment
The controls program comprises four (4) key areas including:
(1) Governance: Support our key governance forums, and manage timely executive control reporting to senior management
(2) Firm-wide control programs: Ensure alignment and adherence to key firm-wide programs
(3) Projects/Reviews: Drive and support critical control projects and reviews; and
(4) Awareness: Build a proactive risk and control culture through sustained and focused communications and delivery
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum skills and qualifications should be met as stated in the job posting

Technical
Data analytics: we use a lot of data to help us focus on the right things. A good grasp on data will help a lot in this role.
Risk and controls focused: anticipate risks, find them, address them in a timely manner.
Critical thinking: Ability to challenge the status quo, generate insights, and think outside the box. Ability to adapt to rapid changes in available data to advise or direct most appropriate course of action in a safe and sound manner.
Project management: Structured management and discipline on often unstructured problems is a requirement of this role
Solutions focused: Ability to work in a dynamic and ambiguous environment, and provide solutions to often unstructured/unprecedented business problems
Optimization and efficiency: Knowledge of latest user tools (e.g. Xcepter, Alteryx, Tableau) would be desirable but not mandatory. Constantly look for ways to minimize or eliminate unnecessary manual interventions within processes
Able to work independently with minimum direction and supervision, whilst remaining aligned to agreed priorities. The ability to be resourceful is important.
Able to translate complex concepts into simple messages that senior stakeholders can easily understand, and be able to convey this through executive presentations orally, and through simple and effective Powerpoint presentations
Can multi-task and effectively prioritize work, managing competing priorities, and executing in a fast-paced, high pressure and high visibility environment.
Have broad knowledge, experience and understanding of financial services industry would be desirable.
Have good communication and presentation skills - both oral and written
Excellent organization skills and strong attention to details
Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Sharepoint.
Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, manuals, and reference materials in compliance to internal firm standards and relevant record retention requirements
