Role Description
This new opportunity heading a small team is a result of ongoing changes within Financial Control and Accounting. With a strong focus on auditing and reporting, this key role will partner closely with the Finance Controller to support our business across Kantar Philippines and ensure the accurate and efficient performance of financial reporting. Core outputs of the role include Balance Sheet and P&L preparation, variance analysis, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, financial accounting processes such as accruals, prepayments, review of bank reconciliations, as well as special projects within the broader finance team which might have either a local, regional or global focus.
Key Outcomes:
Success measures of this role will include:
100% compliance with accounting standards
Timely completion of assigned balance sheet reconciliations
Accurate accruals, fixed assets, prepayments and other journals posted as part of month end reporting
A strong commitment to the ongoing development, enhancement and improvement of processes within the finance team
Key Responsibilities and capabilities:
Support monthly financial reporting and analysis for Kantar Philippines
Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including resolving any issues identified
Prepare high quality, accurate and timely monthly financial reporting
Ensure prepayments and accruals are reconciled with relevant divisions to provide the most accurate information for reporting purposes
Ensure balance sheet reconciliation is clearly documented and completed in a timely manner
Seek to improve monthly reporting processes to provide timely and accurate information
Support the Finance Controller in completing the annual audit
Assist with auditors upon request to deliver a timely year end process
Assist with tax advisors as the need arises to ensure a smooth and on target completion of the tax return
Complete various ad-hoc financial accounting tasks as required
Ensure that Kantar remains in compliance with all accounting and tax standards and be strongly committed to continuous improvement in this area
Experience and skills required to be effective in this role:
Graduate of BS Accountancy, preferably with MBA degree
Certified Public Accountant
At least two (2) years of Audit experience
At least four (4) years' experience as an Assistant Manager or Finance Manager focusing on Financial Reporting and Audits
Ability to demonstrate simple, structured, accurate and robust outputs
Ability to analyse and summarise high volumes of data from a variety of sources
Advanced Excel skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder partnering skills
Personal Attributes:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work autonomously and prioritise work optimally
Always looking for opportunities to improve current processes
Very strong attention to detail
A drive to learn and development within the role
Enjoys being challenged
