Sanofi Consumer Healthcare (CHC) is looking to recruit a seasoned corporate affairs regional head for Asia-Pacific, Middle East & Africa (AMEA). This role will support the business priorities of the AMEA region by shaping the external policy and business operating environment in support of Self Care. This role plays a key position within our AMEA operations and externally. He/she will be based in our Singapore office and reports directly to and is a member of the leadership team of the Head of CHC AMEA Region Head. The job holder is expected to oversee internal, external communication and public affairs activities in the region in a matrix environment, with respective Leads in the country and zone organisations. This person will work closely and cross-functionally with Sanofi CHC's country, regional, and global stakeholders with the core task on developing and executing a robust corporate affairs and access strategy that will help unlock the region's commercial opportunities, advance self care in the region, strengthen our industry leadership, build our brands, and work in tandem with Human Resources on regional employee communications. He/she will also monitor current and emerging regulatory, legislative, and political issues that impact our industry and put in place a robust risk mitigation plan. The role will requires strong knowledge of AMEA market and socio-political dynamics, with a track record of success in policy advocacy and external stakeholder management, with agility to navigate the complex policy, regulatory, and business environment, has strong understanding of the region's landscape complexity, and is able to provide clear guidance and strategic counsel to the Head of CHC AMEA, GMs of priority countries, and business partners in support of their overall business objectives. Finally, the role will involve strengthening our participation our trade associations/chambers of commerce to drive the Sanofi CHC agenda on a range of topics including e-commerce, Rx-to-OTC switches, umbrella branding, sustainability, ingredients issues management, among others. This position also works in cooperation with other corporate functions and Business Units, with close alignment with the corporate public affairs and communications functions, to define Sanofi's position and supportive evidence on key health policy and industry issues where Sanofi wants to lead, shape policies, and activate stakeholder engagement. Corporate Communications (Internal & External) Support the execution of CHC's Communication Strategy and narrative in the AMEA region. Develop and implement a communications strategy for CHC that builds and maintains a positive corporate brand. Oversees AMEA regional corporate communications and provides brand PR support in various official Sanofi online (LinkedIn, Twitter) and print platforms maintain local internal communications infrastructure and tools (Yammer) Supports on issues management, compose and distribute press releases/standby statements as needed. Drive external relationships and corporate reputation for the company. Further develop and advance CHC's corporate reputation among external stakeholders in the region - including media, industry, governments, and stakeholder meetings and events. Draft talking points, correspondence, statements, position papers, testimony, and presentations for external communications relating to corporate affairs for the region and in close alignment with CHC Global Corporate Affairs Partner with Global CHC Corporate Affairs and Human Resources to proactively drive internal communications related to our company, purpose and brand portfolio that engage employees at all levels to ensure they understand our strategy and their role in our success. Plan internal communications and oversee all internal communications output (such as coverage of key milestones, digital channels, webcast/ townhalls / events), effective in communicating Sanofi CHC AMEA strategy and priorities and mobilizing the team Serves as the primary communications counsel to business leaders when it comes to employee engagement and internal communications Build strong communications on Sanofi values Design clear governance for internal communications to avoid silo or duplicated communicated outreach Public Affairs & Advocacy Establish and maintain an "intelligence hub" around key developments, trends, and issues that could impact the landscape for Sanofi CHC AMEA strategy. Proactively explore and evaluate, as an internal expert, the threats, opportunities and emerging trends in the external environment and its impact to CHC's business operations in the region. Anticipate public affairs & policy trends and competitive dynamics (i.e., self care, e-commerce, pharmacy channel, etc.) that represent opportunities or threats to the business and build a clear plan of action to leverage the opportunities or mitigate threats to Sanofi's reputation and to the business Strengthen engagement with key external stakeholders, and foster new ones, given the evolving policy environment around Self Care. Lead and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams ensuring that business risk is mitigated, and opportunities are swiftly identified and successfully executed. Develop scenarios and risk mitigation plans, which reflect a thorough understanding of the policy, government decision-making processes, decision-makers, and influencers, and provide recommendations and solutions to the CHC business Gain a clear understanding of Sanofi's Consumer Healthcare strategy for growth and contribute to the formulation of such strategies. Remain current and alert on relevant industry changes (activities likely to include monitoring research, trade journals and press releases), networking on CHC-specific agenda with key stakeholders and agenda-setting institutions (APEC, ASEAN), civil society organizations, and attending conferences, to learn and monitor new business opportunities for CHC. Proactively drive CHC's agenda in various industry/business associations Education Bachelor's Degree (accredited four-year College or university, e.g., political sciences, law, economics, medicine, or pharmacy) is required. Post-graduate degree in public health or health care related field /public affairs/ communication is strongly preferred. Experience & Knowledge A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in public affairs roles with experience as a healthcare policy shaper on influencer is a strong plus. Proven track record of successful initiatives in public affairs, market access/development, innovative reputation-building, and stakeholder engagement is required. Experience conceiving programs that join diverse stakeholders to deliver on a common public interest is an asset An entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to understand consumer needs and business transformations to create new business opportunities to build and grow CHC's business in AMEA This position will require strong collaboration across functions, BUs, countries and Global teams. Identified candidates will have proven experience in developing and leading within a highly matrixed environment, driving results through influence is required, but with a Compliance-first mindset Ability to work under a multi-country accountability, with experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and matrix environment, demonstrate flexibility and superior organizational, analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills Results-oriented with strong cross-functional collaboration mindset Exercise a high level of independent judgment even in challenging, complex situations is required in this role Demonstrated skills in communication with media, PR, and content development. Experience in digital and social media campaigns a plus Strong social and intercultural skills, position holder acknowledge diversity and creates the room to motivate people towards creativity & out of the box thinking, strong ability to work under pressure, to work along agreed upon timelines and to achieve respective milestones Experience in project management and in directing work with consultants. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
