ROLE:
At Northern Trust, data drives all of our decision-making, and HR is no exception. The HR Data and Analytics team pioneers Northern Trust's approach to talent strategy and organizational growth. As a member of the team, you will play an important role in helping our HR department address the people-related data and analytical needs of internal clients across the globe.
Supporting the team as a Consultant for Data Governance, you will create and implement a strategic vision to transform, enhance and strengthen the global data strategy and governance of HR under the Data Strategy and Governance vertical. You will lead multiple transformation initiatives to ensure that data management related applications are fit for purpose for the growing needs of HR as we shift to the next generation of modern cloud-based technology. In support of our enterprise data governance vision, you will also be accountable for assuring that our data assets are trusted, accessible and understood, and are used in a meaningful, consistent, and compliant manner.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a critical initiative to lead data governance, define and oversee policies, standards and processes, and drive alignment, accountability, and stewardship across the organization.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Design and formalize the data governance strategy, and mature the governance operating model and frameworks for HR
Establish the governance and quality standards for the department's data management and production of data assets, as well as ensuring proper monitoring, measurement, and compliance of newly instituted procedures
Define and execute data governance operational processes (e.g., data quality measurement) in accordance with policies and standards, clearly articulating roles and responsibilities
Cultivate understanding of key user needs, current state processes, and macro-level trends to architect future state blueprint using a design-centered approach
Leverage client-facing skills with a flexible communication style and the ability to communicate complex concepts and analytics in a structured manner
Develop and execute comprehensive change management strategies that effectively drive awareness, change, and adoption of new tools, policies, and processes
Demonstrate strong project management skills, executive messaging, deliverable development, and success acclimating to diverse delivery models
Lead Data Governance Committee meetings for HR and represent HR in the broader Enterprise Data Governance.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong project leadership and presenting skills, ability to prioritize across teams and functions
A strong understanding of data needs for analysis and business performance management
Familiarity with DCAM framework and GDPR is preferred
Experience with data governance and data quality management tools like Collibra
Preferably At least 2 years of experience in a data strategy or governance role
Preferably 3 years of experience in data analytics, business strategy or management consulting
