Role:
As an Asset Servicing Business Management Consultant, you will be a member of a small team of professionals who work closely with the Asset Servicing leadership team in creating, developing, and maintaining key metrics and systems for data analysis and reporting. Must have strong analytics skills as well as the ability to creatively resolve problems. Performs data science research and develops custom prototypes. Uses specific knowledge of a discipline to achieve goals through own work. Has specific knowledge or expertise typically gained through formal education or equivalent experience. Uses expertise to provide guidance to others as a project manager or consultant. Requires working knowledge and experience in own job discipline. Continues to build knowledge of the company, processes and clients. Performs a range of assignments related to job discipline. Uses prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Gathers requirements and subsequently develops and deploys reporting solutions using Microsoft Business Intelligence tools (Power BI). Creates automated and interactive dashboards/reports with user-friendly visualization using Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
Understands various data sets/sources of Asset Servicing business - GRP, MIS, & Risk - and develop relevant dashboards. Liaises with Asset Servicing stakeholders and identifies new opportunities for representing data/information
Analyzes raw datasets using descriptive statistics, working directly with domain experts to understand the meaning of data fields. Develops forecasting models, typically in Python with the datasets available
Builds unit tests, data quality checks and data pipelines to ensure that algorithms use trusted data
Develops and maintains an understanding of many algorithms across supervised learning, unsupervised learning and time series analysis
Proposes and develops machine learning ensemble methods that exhibit the best out-of-sample characteristics possible given the input dataset
Utilizes expertise in machine learning algorithms to tune algorithms using available hyper-parameters and carefully select feature subsets
May present findings to internal and external customers using both data science language (F1 scores, regression error, statistical significance, etc.) as well as business domain specific language gained from experience analyzing the data in scope.
Plans and executes data science training sessions and hackathons
Solves problems in straightforward situations
Analyzes possible solutions using technical experience and judgment and precedents
Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team
Works within guidelines and policies
Skills/Qualifications:
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required / preferred, and strong statistical background. Data Science specific graduate work, Finance sector experience or coursework preferred
At least 6 years of relevant proven work experience is required
Provides informal guidance to new team members
R, Python, Common Python libraries (numpy ,pandas, sklearn, etc.), Linux based operating systems, and basic development tools (Python IDEs, source control, etc.) required
Advanced distributed machine learning frameworks (e.g. Keras, TF, etc.)
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
Ability to build insights from data and information; deliver using either PowerPoint presentations or other material (infographics, dashboards, etc.)
Tech-savvy, especially with regard to Microsoft Office tools and applications (data modeling in Excel, Visio, managing SharePoint workflows)
Must have working knowledge of Power BI, SQL queries, (good to have - Tableau, R, Python, VB.net)
Highly flexible and adaptable to change
Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the Business Unit's goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of staff
Requires expanded conceptual knowledge in own job discipline
Understands key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work
Explains complex information to others in straightforward situations
