Overview:
USAID's BARMMHealth project, implemented by University Research Co., LLC (URC) in partnership with the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM)'s Ministry of Health, seeks to improve access of underserved populations to quality family planning (FP), maternal and child health (MCH), and adolescent reproductive health (ARH) information and services. The project develops the commitment and capacity of the government, civil society and local communities to respond to the needs and choices of families across the region's five provinces and two cities by facilitating evidence-based solutions aimed at better health outcomes and a self-reliant health system.
USAID's BARMMHealth project is seeking to engage a qualified short-term consultant to execute the core technical, leadership and operational improvements identified during the adaptive management exercise.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Participate in the planning and preparation for the FY23 workplan process, Grants Pause and Reflect sessions in partnership with HQ and Senior Management Team
Work with "Legacy Champions" to finalize strategies for FY23 and FY24, consolidate the legacy approaches in a streamlined way, and ensure they are woven throughout all documentation by the project
Work with COP and technical leads to prepare operational plans and budgets for FY23 based on the approved workplan including resource management
Provide quality assurance reviews, feedback and coaching for key deliverables, USAID communication such as emails, and other technical products such as the weekly report
Participate in team meetings, foster collaboration and communication, and offer recommendations and suggestions to senior management team to enhance teamwork and efficiencies
Support the coaching and mentoring of the COP and DCOP-Operations in effective project management and leadership
Identify risks and opportunities for HQ to consider for FY23 and beyond
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
URC is looking for an experienced health or development professional with previous experience working with the US Government funded health programs.
Excellent communication skills, work ethic, ability to work under pressure, and ability to work with people of different cultural backgrounds.
Strong writing and presentation skills
Availability to travel to and based in Cotabato City during the duration of consultancy.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
Masters' degree in clinical or Public Health or Health Services
Minimum 10 years of experience in providing technical support with leadership roles with focus on FP and RMNCH
Previous experience working on USAID funded project is preferable
Proven track record of building and managing teams to plan, implement, measure and document effective programs.
Familiarity with USAID implementation, reporting requirement and standards is a must
