The Global Network Operations team is responsible for the design, planning, implementation, delivery and day to day services of all interconnection products & services. Working closely together with the Global IBX teams, the Global Operations team and the Product organizations. Driving for excellence, global standardization, scalability and continuously improving customer satisfaction.
Job Summary:
Global Network Connectivity team is responsible to manage all Network Connectivity utilized by Equinix globally for our underlying infrastructure to support our core products, working closely with the Telcom Carriers to keep the Connectivity aligned with the product life cycle and the scalability demands.
Reporting to the Global Networks Connectivity team, this role will be responsible for the turn up of new capacity successfully before handing off the circuits to the Implementation team. Liaise with the Carrier delivery team, the IBX Ops team and providing updates to PMO team handling the deployment projects.
Responsibilities
Interface with Carrier's circuit provisioning team and Equinix cross function teams
Submit carrier technical questionaries (ASN, AS-SET, etc)
Validate LOA's CFAs, port assignment, IP allocations etc
Troubleshoot physical layer issues, work with IBX Ops to resolve
Test and verify services delivered as working and consistent with the service ordered.
Supports service decommissioning of old circuits.
Service remediation and documents update
Helps support the training and mentoring of junior members of the team
Conduct efficient and effective IT audit procedures.
Ability to document solutions with Visio, Word, and PowerPoint
Qualifications
3 years' experience as a network engineer ideally from an ISP or Telco background.
Has previously worked on medium to large production networks in a support role with strong troubleshooting skills.
Experience of working with carrier grade equipment from at least 2 of the following vendors - Juniper, Nokia, Arista and Cisco.
Required technical skills - Network knowledge (OSI Model, IP subnets, basic BGP)
Previous experience of Tier2 network support
Vendor certifications - Preferable CCNP or JNCIP
Well organized and fast learner
Fluency in English required, ability to speak and write
