Job Description
Balsam International is looking for an exceptionally strong compensation and benefits leader who will oversee total compensation and benefits strategy for our Manila Team while keeping true to our unique culture and our people-centric values. You are also responsible for supporting and monitoring compliance program policies and procedures. Our Compensation Benefits and Compliance Manager has exemplary people and project management skills. You are hard-working, reliable and extremely trustworthy. You have a strong strategic mindset and the capability to translate ideas tactically. You have the ability to identify opportunities and potential issues by looking at both qualitative and quantitative data, then validate and synthesize recommendations into actions. You have proven record working collaboratively with a team on everything related to compensation, benefits and rewards programs and effectively communicating within different levels in and out of the organization.
You will directly report to the Director of People and manage a team of about 4+ members from the Compensation and Compliance team in Manila. You will create, review, update and refine our salary structure, benefits and rewards program to ensure they are best-in-class, compliant with Philippine regulations, and consistent with our unique culture. The local and cross-geographical team will consider you as the go-to person for concerns and clarifications related to compensation, benfits, rewards and compliance. Through data analysis, you will create projects and initiatives that will address gaps and result in the achievement of goals. Finally, you will provide mentorship and guidance to the direct team members and support them in their growth.
What you'll be doing:
Develop, review, align and execute compensation, benefits and rewards strategies for the regional team to ensure both competitiveness and internal and external equity.
Design, regularly review and roll-out a best-in-class benefits and rewards programs for the Team in Manila
Execute timely and accurate processing of payroll and other benefits
Spearhead various initiatives to raise awareness and improve employee morale
Ensure timely coordination, communication and compliance to all government regulations as it relates to compensation and benefits
Participate in discussions about and implement and monitor compliance programs and policies
Prepare regular reports as it relates to compensation, benefits and rewards
Ensure ROHQ labor practices are above-board and enforce the strict adherence to administrative proceedings and other compliance requirements
Work with global team to create, review, update and refine norms to ensure they are above-board, reasonable and consistent with our unique culture
Review processes and identify gaps to achieve efficiency gains
Craft company-wide communication that are consistent with global messaging and tone
Ensure the confidentiality and security of all company information and files
Mentor and guide your direct team members and support them in their growth
Perform other related duties as required
What you bring to the table:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
4+ years in Benefits and Compensation Administration including knowledge and experience in government agency benfits and policies (SSS, Pag-ibig, Philhealth, DOLE, BIR).
4+ years of people management and development experience and over 8 years of actual work experience
Experince using HRIS, Payroll systems, online government websites and payment facilities is a must
Experience in Compliance work is a plus
High level of interpersonal skills. Effective relationship building capacity with employees, cross-functional peers and external partners
Strong strategic mindset and the capacity to translate tactically
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proactively communicates and has the ability to convey information effectively and appropriately for the needs of the audience (asks questions, gives feedback, clarifies potential issues, etc.)
Proven project and time management skills (ability to prioritize) especially with multiple high-priority tasks. Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Extensive people development background with proven capability in identifying talents/strengths, addressing performance gaps and coaching for success
Highly adaptable to new technology. Has advanced skills in MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PPT, One Note) and other unified communication and collaboration tools or platforms like MS Teams
Some background in project management tools like Trello, Basecamp and JIRA, is a plus
