A. GENERAL PURPOSE/PRIMARY FUNCTION
Reporting to the Human Resources Section Head, the company nurse is responsible for providing the emergency care and treatment to employee, record and monitor all accident and illness cases, and supply the reportorial requirements in compliance to DOLE or other government mandated policy/law.
B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assists the Occupational Health & Safety Committee Chairperson:
a. Prepares drafts and final copies of memoranda, letters, and other correspondences;
b. Prepares and lays out documents and other materials.
c. Prepares and sends e-mail communications as instructed.
d. Facilitates all OSH-related requests/forms for processing.
e. Manages & facilitates settlement of OSH-related expenses until completion of liquidation.
f. Submits reportorial requirements in compliance to DOLE.
g. Supplies report as requested by other sections.
h. Documents minutes of the meeting of Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
i. May be assigned as Safety Coordinator
2. Provides emergency and palliative care and treatment to employees within the legal scope of nursing responsibility.
3. Provides general First Aid to employees when required, assesses employee health risks, and promotes employee health.
4. Assist HR Specialist in launching innovative program for wellness, to increase level of safety and prevent lifestyle and work-related diseases.
5. Maintains all employee medical record and all similar documents.
6. Secures and ensures that the sick employees submit Fit to Work certificate.
7. Interprets and evaluates diagnostic test based on the verification of medical certificates
8. Assists in Annual Physical Examination, Flu Vaccination, Sanitary Permit requirements, HMO renewal/enrollment, and Group Life Insurance renewal/enrollment.
9. Monitors APE schedule and collates all results and submits reports to the management.
10. Conducts home visitations as needed.
11. Coordinates with the Administrative Services Section with regard to medical supplies.
12. Issues medical clearance to employees and examine them to upon return to work after Sick leave.
13. Prepares a weekly or monthly report of employees who have consulted or seek medical attention.
14. Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time by management.
C. QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Experience
At least 3 years of experience as company nurse with background in industrial occupational health & Safety.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Registered Nurse
Preferably an OHNAP and/or BOSH certified
Ability to assess, first aid, and refer employees to the nearest hospital.
Knowledge of office management system and/or clerical duties
