THE OPPORTUNITY
The Community Development Facilitator will implement the UNICEF-funded project on Communication for Development (C4D) for Alternative Learning Systems (ALS). This role will assist in conducting validation research, coordinate consultations with the Department of Education, Local Government Units, and partners in the community to develop communication strategies to raise the awareness and appreciation of the national ALS program. This role will be based in three project areas, one for Angeles City, in North Samar, and in Zamboanga City.
Further, as the Community Development Facilitator:
You will facilitate the capacity building of chosen project partners in rolling out the communication for development strategy.
You will conduct regular monitoring of the project and provide regular reports on the progress of the implementation.
You will develop case stories and good practices observed in the project.
You will coordinate with identified youth development associations (YDA) organized in the project areas.
Plan International is a development and humanitarian organization. In exceptional cases, you will be asked to support emergency response activities in the communities in your assigned covered areas.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
To be successful in the role you will need among other things:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, or another related course.
Has relevant experience and training in community organizing, strategic communication, or advocacy building.
Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in development work.
Previous work experience in Education-related projects or in a similar project or organization is an advantage.
Must be able to exhibit values of integrity and diversity.
Fluency in Filipino and English (written and spoken).
