The objective of the role is to identify, define and assess new as well as existing opportunities for value creation across the businesses & portfolio of intellectual properties in the group. The person performing this role is expected to use a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis and provide insights/recommendation to enable the management team to execute on the strategy with a view on growth. The person is also expected to work with business heads and other enabling teams to implement/execute the strategy towards desired outcomes.
For new initiatives that get operationalized after the ideation/assessment phase, the person may either lead the initiative in a build-operate-transfer model or also look to run the initiative/business in future.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy formulation and assessment:
Assess feasibility (e.g. cost estimate, internal capability to execute, potential partners, resource requirements, monetization opportunity) for new initiatives
Analyze high-level problem statement/ hypothesis/ business requirement
Identity and assess trends in the media / entertainment / retail industry and viability for contextualization in the business
Define a strategic roadmap for new opportunities / initiatives backed by analysis
Responsible for developing high-level business case
Research & analysis:
Market scan, consumer and trends analysis (e.g. media industry, e-commerce, music, fashion)
Competitor analysis (e.g. local and international) in specific and adjacent industry / market
Quantitative analysis (e.g. industry margins, value chain, sources of monetization)
Strategy execution:
Identify approach to translate strategic analysis into outcomes
Partner with teams to lead and initiate execution
Collaboration and team management:
Responsible for initiating programs for implementation and working with PMO in defining key outcomes, team
Ability to synthe, present & articulate outcomes from analysis & research to business heads and/or working teams
Ability to work with cross-functional teams as a key contributor
Financial analysis:
Strong understanding of P&L drivers for business / programs
Ability to interpret and synthe insights from industry / company reports
