Job Description:
Forensic Underwriting eliminates or mitigates monetary losses associated with Repurchase Demands, Mortgage Insurance Claim Denials, Fee Claims and other remedy related expenses and/or inquiries. Must provide feedback Originations, Credit Risk and QA on policy issues, process issues and questions regarding the seller/servicer guides.
Position Summary
Forensic Underwriter is responsible for preparing and reviewing incoming loan referrals and status requests, including data entry input and will utilize Chase systems to secure pertinent loan information needed for the review.
Prioritizing loan reviews as needed especially those coming from the executive offices.
Working various Forensic Underwriting process flows and managing workload on a daily basis.
Working through file reviews based on specific criteria to determine if incorrect information was provided by any of the parties to the transaction.
Reviewing data provided by systems, record repositories, tools and data used for the underwriting decision, appraisal reviews, closing documents and other information that is relevant to the transaction.
The information will be used to disposition loan reviews and forward appropriate evaluations to the appropriate parties.

Knowledge and Experience/Qualifications
Four year college degree or equivalent work experience
At least 1 year tenure in current role and not under performance action plans.
Three or more years of mortgage originations, servicing, default loan documentation and other credit experience
Two or more years mortgage underwriting experience
Experience in Mortgage Fraud Investigations, Underwriting Loan Quality Review and Document Fulfillment is a plus
Knowledgeable in Home Lending systems or applications such as MSP, MX, EIV, RISSK, Closr, DROP, ACES, CLM, Dealworks and Cleanroom
Experience and knowledge of Government, GSE and Chase guidelines
