Job Description
The Cloud Engineer will build, monitor, and manage the cloud infrastructure / workloads and other related technical task assign by the management.
He/she will be part of our Technical  Team that will be tasked to work on multiple cloud migration and optimization projects. Some of which would be migrating complex, multi-tier applications on different Cloud Platforms (e.g. Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure).
He/she will be hands on in managing cloud infrastructure following our best practices, technology frameworks, and documentation.
It is essential that he/she should also be able to communicate and work well with our fellow technical team, subject matter experts (SMEs) and our clients.
Continually review and recommend improvements to operational processes and procedures
Look for opportunities to automate anything and everything
Ensure Monitoring and Alerting
Standards are tested in transition and followed in production
Participate in incident management and communications, including follow-up with problem resolution post-mortem, and process improvement.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Linux Operating System experience (preferably Ubuntu).
- AWS experience (EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, CloudFront, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, etc.)
- Azure Experience (bonus)
Container experience (Docker/Kubernetes, AWS ECS/Fargate, Azure ACI) favorable
- Windows Server Administration experience
- Good Understanding of Virtualisation Technologies (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V, AWS EC2, Azure VMs)
- Has experience with Scripting and Automation (bash, PowerShell, etc.)
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling (puppet/chef/ansible/terraform) favorable
- Office365 experience is a plus
- Good understanding of AD/DNS/DHC
- Good understanding of backup technologies and methodologies
- Strong communication skills
- Has experienced migration from on-premise to the cloud
- Experience with DevOps methodology (favorable)
-Has experience with Application Performance Monitoring (favorable) and server resource monitoring solutions (e.g. Nagios, NewRelic, DataDog, Application Insights, AWS X-Ray, MS SCOM, etc)
- Has a good understanding of Network Architecture
- Has a good understanding of Security and Compliance
- Enterprise ITSM and CMDB Tools
Data Networks – routing, firewalls, load balancers, DNS
Databases – relational and NoSQL
Storage architecture and technologies
Security – Access Management, Key Management
