Job Description :
The purpose of the Civil/Arch Procurement Engineer position is to secure the cost-efficient and timely procurement of permanent materials related to equipment, machinery, general construction, subcontractors, and other non-construction activities.
Key tasks will be but are not limited to the following:
Review the RFQ packages before Procurement Process start and highlight the concerns to the line manager.
Coordinate with technical office team for completing the procurement tasks. Prepare the Submittals prequalification documents for processing in coordination with consultant thru technical office.
Review the Materials priorities as per the approved procurement plan considering the normal and long lead items.
Spreading the RFQ to market as per the approved vendor list, review the received proposals, carry out the commercial proposals and deal with technical office to close the technical part.
Completes the Purchase Orders attachment, comparison sheet, and material files for Procurement Unit Heads review
Prepares Purchase Orders / Sub-contract Agreement as per approved submittal and material service request sent by the site
Negotiate the commercial proposals with coordination with Procurement Manager
Evaluate the vendors from Procurement point of view and report procurement manager
Maintain and update list of suppliers and their qualifications, delivery times, and potential future development
Coordinates with the Procurement Manager to complete and update the Procurement Plan and ensures it is regularly updated
Work with team members and Procurement Manager to complete duties as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Civil/ Arch Engineering is mandatory with additional experience in Civil/Arch procurement. Strong technical knowledge is required.
Good interpersonal, organizational, communication, and negotiation skills
Minimum 3-4 years experience in procurement in a construction/contracting firm Strong computer skills
Fluent in English (oral and written) Arabic language fluency preferred
Relevant certification in procurement management, or procurement controls, or procurement planning will be a plus
