The CIB-Operations teams are recognized as key to business profitability, playing a crucial role in managing clients, risk and minimizing losses. This is done by ensuring that business activities are carried out in an efficient, controlled and timely manner.
The role of CIB-Operations covers a wide range of activities. Following the buying and selling of financial products and services by the bank, we ensure that each transaction is captured accurately and in a timely manner to ensure effective risk management, cleared, documented and confirmed, settled and reconciled, all within a tightly controlled environment in adherence with global regulatory requirements. We are split into 4 main sub-divisions:
Debt Trading and Emerging Markets
Global Equities and Network Management
Markets Clearing & Collateral Management (MCCM)
Regulatory and Control Cross Product Operations (RCP)
You will operational expertise and independent governance to achieve timely, accurate and complete transaction management for the bank and, where relevant, the bank's clients.
Your key responsibilities
Handle processes for Fixed Income and Currencies (FIC) Japan mainly covering settlements for foreign exchange, rates and credit
Engage with Japan-domiciled clients and external counterparties on a daily basis to agree on trade details/cash flows and other settlement related processes (pre-matching, confirmation, settlement monitoring)
Oversee the team's daily completion; manage controls and drive change via process improvements or digitalisation to ensure that operational targets are met.
Coordinate with onshore stakeholders and product leads for any issues or support required for business growth
Your skills and experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or related course, with prior experience in banking or commercial bank operations
Experience in operations/settlements and strong working knowledge in excel will be an advantage.
Proficient in speaking, writing and reading Japanese language (at least N1 or N2) as the role requires daily interaction with stakeholders - Front Office, Trust Banks, other teams within DB and highly sensitive Japanese clients
Highly organised and independent with excellent interpersonal skills; able to work in a multi-cultural environment
