Job Description:
The Operations Business Line of Global Fund Services is responsible for the support services and back office functionality of external Fund Managers.
The Transfer Agency Product Group is part of the Operations business line and provides key value added functions for Clients including:
Processing of all investor related activities
Carry out Know Your Clients checks on investors
Regulatory and Tax reporting for investors and the funds administered
Accurate and timely processing of account opening, account maintenance, deals/trades processing, pricing, settlement of cash and reporting functions
Each of these functions has specific deadlines for completion and delivery either to other internal departments or directly to Fund Managers and Clients.
Overview
Transfer Agency (TA) maintains the shareholder register for investment funds by executing shareholder instructions. JPMorgan Transfer Agency operations are performed in Luxembourg, Dublin, Manila, Bangalore and Hong Kong.
Every function that is performed in TA impacts this register; whether it is booking a transaction (i.e. Dealing), changing an address (i.e. Registration and Account Maintenance), or settling a deal (i.e. Cash Processing). JPMorgan's Transfer Agency shareholder register is held and maintained in a core TA system. It is the Transfer Agent's responsibility to ensure that the register is accurate at all times as well as providing investment documentation such as contract notes and periodic statements (i.e. Pricing & Investor Reporting).
There are two types of investor the Transfer Agency services:
i. Private Investors are individuals who invest either directly into the funds that they have chosen using a distributor, or through an Agent who can offer investment advice.
ii. Institutional Investors include retail and investment banks, central banks, government treasury funds, charitable trusts and life assurance/insurance companies. Investing either their own assets, or pooled private investor's money, into large funds and managing them on their behalf.
Key Accountabilities/Major Responsibilities:
The Fund Servicing Analyst is expected to be proficient in the following:
Assist the Fund Servicing Manager I in the management of the team and in the oversight of day-to-day BAU operations.
Ensure accurate and timely transaction processing (account opening, account maintenance, deals/trades processing, pricing, cash processing/settlement, reporting and reconciliations), review and reporting in accordance with the established work practices and procedures of the Transfer Agency Group.
Accurately record money movement and reconciliation of the same in accordance with the established work practices and procedures of the Transfer Agency Group.
Carry out Anti-Money laundering (AML) checks whilst displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the established practices, processes and procedures of JPMorgan including in-depth industry awareness.
Facilitate the completion of regular and ad-hoc client, investor and regulatory reporting requirements in a timely, accurate and professional manner for submission to the Fund Servicing Manager I.
Provide support to Fund Servicing Manager I through investigation and analysis and provision of relevant data to resolve client queries, as required
Lead and/or participate in internal and external projects
Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures as required
Ad-hoc tasks as directed by the Manager.
Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge
1-3 years relevant Financial Institution (FI) experience is required. Transfer Agent experience is preferred.
1 - 3 years people management experience preferred
Working knowledge of Transfer Agent administration systems
High proficiency in MS Office
Previous experience on relevant FI systems
Solid Interpersonal skills - ability to interact effectively both with individuals & teams, a team player.
Excellent English written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively to different styles at all levels,
Assume accountability through willingness to take ownership and responsibility to accomplish goals.
Adaptability to maintain standards and adjusting effectively to work within new work structures, processes or requirements.
Initiating action and escalating potential risks to minimise loss.
