Responsibilities:
The person selected for this position should be able to provide group facilitation, interviewing, training, and additional forms of knowledge transfer in the area of chemical defense, support and analysis. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant contribution to the defense of the Nation in a new and developing office.
This position will be located on a client site.
Provides technical and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirements development, and implementation for complex to extremely complex systems in the homeland security area.
Performs the functions of an expert in the relevant Chemical Defense field in support of major programs or system development.
Applies expertise in defining and resolving system issues, performing analysis, and developing plans and requirements in the subject-matter area for complex systems.
Works independently or leads a project team in the development and delivery of guidance documents, exercises, and training in support of program objectives.
Leads the development of a variety of analytic decision support products that meet National decision makers' and stakeholders' requirements.
More broadly, performs the functions of a expert in execution of Chemical Defense projects.
Applies scientific expertise in defining and resolving system issues, performing analysis, and developing plans and requirements for further analysis. Coordinates and manages the preparation of analysis, evaluations, and recommendations within Chemical Defense projects in support of federal personnel.
Provide technical expertise and analysis in the areas of chemical defense/preparedness/security, medical toxicology/health security, chemical detection, and prevention, protection, and response mission space related to chemical threats and CBRN incidents.
Support CWMD/Chemical Defense in assessing chemical risk, threats and vulnerability to varying targets (geographic and/or specific) and provide assistance in the execution of full-scope projects to mitigate and increase protective posture against these risks.
Support CWMD/Chemical Defense in developing and executing chemical detection programs, including providing assistance in acquiring effective detection technology, integrating with both CWMD and other operating entity concept of operations, and continuous evaluation processes to maintain programmatic effectiveness and efficiency.
Support CWMD/Chemical Defense in developing reports, analyses and other internal and external-facing products in support of the aforementioned tasks.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in direct or related fields of national security, emergency management, environmental health, or similar.
2-3 years of experience in the fields of national security, emergency management, public health disaster management, chemical defense, or similar areas.
Active Secret Clearance and ability to pass a DHS suitability clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience in CBRN material as well as an understanding of the hazards associated with their manufacture, transport and use.
