Job Description
The chef will be responsible for preparing dishes and meals during workdays at the company. In addition, the chef will also be in complete control of the kitchen, monitoring and administering the food prepared in the kitchen by the staff members.
Essential Functions
Collaborate with kitchen management on menus and ensure the quality of meals Managing and working closely with other Chefs of all levels.
Ensure all food safety regulations are followed
Determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering inventories to stay within certain budget
Inspect supplies, equipment and work areas for cleanliness and functionality Create menu items, recipes and develop new products and/or dishes while ensuring variety and quality of food
Assist in developing specifications for both raw material and processed subassemblies and finished products processing techniques for recipe testing
Coordinate with R&D Department to do product testing and improvement, and study the potential of new products
Observe product testing and recommend solutions
Qualifications
Must have proven work experience as a chef
Preferably has NC ll Accreditation
Deep knowledge of the food industry and trends
Has background on research and development
Excellent technical skills (cooking techniques, including how to cook, store and serve good food)
A sensitive palate and knowledge about ingredients and their combinations
Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures
Leadership skills or experience with managing kitchen staffs
Excellent communication skills
Willing to work in a fast-paced environment
