Responsibilities:
Takes care of daily food preparation and duties to meet the standard and the quality set by the Restaurant
Responsible to supervise and coordinate daily tasks of junior chefs or commis
Guide and train the kitchen team on a daily basis to ensure high motivation and economical working environment
Collect feedback on a daily basis
Establish and maintain effective inter-departmental working relationships
Set as an example to others for personal hygiene and cleanliness and safe and correct use of equipment and utensils
Able to estimate the daily production needs
Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met
Ensure that the production, preparation and presentation of food are of the highest quality at all times
Knowledge of all standard procedures and policies pertaining to food preparation, receiving, storage and sanitation
Ensure highest levels of guest satisfaction, quality, operating and food costs on an ongoing basis
Full awareness of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production and presentation standards
Have excellent knowledge of menu creation, whilst maintaining quality and controlling costs in a volume food business
Operate and maintain all department equipment and reporting of malfunctioning
Checks periodically expiry dates and proper storage of food items in the section
Assess quality control and adhere to hotels service standards
Consults daily with the team and other departments about any last-minute reservations
Requirements:
Relevant working experience in a hotel or restaurant of at least 5 years
Experience in handling banquets
Degree in hospitality is a plus (but not required)
Can speak Filipino, Cebuano and English
Knowledge in MS Office Applications
Willing to work at Punta Engaño, Lapu-Lapu City
