Job Overview
• Responsible for determining the health care and services provided to patients by their healthcare plan to ensure the quality of such care and services fulfills the medically accepted standards
• Responsible for auditing patient medical records and applying clinical standards and guidelines to ensure reported diagnoses are clinically accurate and applying ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes
• Work closely/collaborate with colleagues to ensure services provided are met
Qualifications
• Graduate of BS Nursing
• Must have 3 years+ of inpatient/outpatient coding experience (ICD-9 and ICD-10)
• Work experience in a clinical/hospital setting
• Holds an active and unrestricted PHRN license
• Must be a Certified Medical Coder (CCS, CCS - P, COC, CIC, CPC, and CPC-I credential, etc)
• Amenable to work in a shifting/graveyard schedule
• Can work on-site and from home
