Job Description Summary
The Catalog Engineer is responsible for creating Spare Parts Lists for the Heavy Duty power plant technologies in the GE fleet.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Create recommended Spare Part Lists for different standard inspections for turbines and generators.
This includes obtaining as-shipped unit BoMs, identifying the relevant sections within the BoM as per the scope of the standard inspection, identifying and categorizing the recommended spare parts for each section. The Catalog Engineer must be able to update the list based on the in-service modifications captured for the unit. As a final step, the Catalog Engineer need to ensure that the spare parts are created in PLM and the relevant ERP and validate the availability of the items in that ERP.
Update existing spare parts lists according to Unit Records Sheet modifications.
Support Sales and Commercial managers when negotiating with customers with assistance for the scope covered in this position.
Support RCA/CA initiatives for NCR investigations.
Provide support to internal and external customers for sales initiatives.
Continuously improve the processes and tools related to recommended spare part list creation.
Drive projects that improve/develop the accuracy of the spare parts lists.
Support the creation and maintenance of Work Instructions, Standard Work & trainings for recommended spare part list creatin process.
Follow EHS rules and warn others to follow the rules, execute mandatory EHS trainings and immediately report the incidents and near misses as required.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Engineering or Mechatronics
Ability to read, interpret and comprehend technical documentation such as technical drawings, Bill of Materials, material specifications, electrical schematic diagrams, system block diagrams, and recommended spare part lists
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
Must be fluent in Writing/Speaking/Reading in English
Ability to quickly and effectively learn business operating systems
Utilizes initiative and independent judgment in the performance of daily work tasks
Ability to properly prioritize expected work and execute assigned tasks
Ability to work in a matrix environment
Ability to work in a cohesive, cooperative, and professional manner
Ability to communicate and integrate across functions within the business
Detail-oriented, organized, conscientious team player with strong sense of ownership
Desired Characteristics
Experience with PLM, SBoM, Global Explorer (GE employees only)
Ability to design, sell, and implement process improvements
Being fluent in Writing/Speaking/Reading in Hungarian is beneficial
Experience with legacy GE Gas Turbine technology (e.g. fleet management, configuration management, design engineer, application engineer, outage engineer, or other supporting engineering roles)
