Duties and Responsibilities
1. Observe and follow cashiering and accounting policies and procedure of the Institute.
2. Process transactions to the cash register by effectively and efficiently handling cash and credit card payments.
3. Issue receipts, refunds, credits, and/or change due to customers.
4. Inventory of money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts tally with the cash on hand and that there is adequate change.
5. Prepare daily deposit slip.
6. Release cash payments to doctors.
7. Disburse petty cash.
8. Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.
9. Answer customers' questions and refer to the Senior Cashier as needed.
10. Keep periodic balance sheets of amounts and numbers of transactions.
11. Compile and maintain non-monetary reports and records.
12. Record returned checks into patient accounting systems and coordinate with Credit and Collection for follow-up.
13. Post payments to appropriate accounts and maintain logs of daily receipts.
14. Notify Senior Cashier and/or Security of all unusual circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft.
15. Perform other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
Skills and Qualifications
1. Graduate of any Business Course
2. With at least 6 months experience in cashiering preferably gained in hospital-set up
3. Must possess good business communication and interpersonal relation skills
4. Can handle confidential information with utmost discretion
5. Knowledge and technical skills on standard cashiering procedures
