Description * PURPOSE
To create designs so we can visualize the construction that enables the development, modification, and optimization of the design process.
QUALIFICATIONS
>With Associate's degree in Drafting or Bachelor's degree in Computer Technology, Architecture, or Civil Engineering
>With at least 3 years of experience as a Drafter
>With CAD Operator experience in construction firm, architectural firm, or engineering firm
>Proficient in AutoCAD and Sketchup applications
>Knowledgeable in building codes and architectural technology
>With exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
>With valid driver's license
>Can drive 4wheels, MT
JOB DESCRIPTION
DESIGN
>Understand the equations, calculations, and written instructions from designers and engineers before beginning a CAD drawing
>Use special notations and symbols to give instructions on drawings and blueprints
>Draw and plan for structural foundations and other construction projects
>Use manual drawing skills for plans that cannot be computer generated
>Revise drawings based on instruction from engineers and/or architects
>Determine impact of site requirements and building codes before doing drawings or blueprints
SITE VISIT
>Visit building sites to collect data for drawings
>Consult with clients to understand their instructions and answer their questions
>Monitor compliance with building codes throughout the construction process
IMPLEMENTATION
>Review engineering data to ensure compliance with the original design plans
>Modify existing drawings
>Draw illustrations of mechanical systems for manuals
>Store drawings electronically for later use
