ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a CAD Draftsman to be assigned to our Client based in Australia with a business in architecture and construction.
This is a day shift, office based role.
Primary Responsibilities
Your primary responsibility is to prepare CAD drawings for the Product Specialist (SME) and Job Coordination teams - and to gather necessary inputs direct from product specialists (SME).
You maintain CAD drawing lead-times within target
You process the greater majority of CAD drawings in a first-in-first-out sequence or as specified by the Engineering Supervisor
You review the product specifications against current architectural plans to pick up any ambiguity or shop drawing difficulty
You seek feedback on drawings from the Product Specialist (SME) and make amends accordingly. Product Specialist (SME) to sign off on amendments before the reissue of drawings
You communicate with clients (external and internal) when required to gather missing information
Your relationships with other team members are productive and free from conflict
You engage in no behavior that is damaging to - or in competition with - our company policies
Additionally, you will be required to:
Create Revit families for architects in order to save them time
Create 3D images for sales and marketing
Participate in short daily WIP meetings
Key Performance Indicators
Average CAD drawing lead time (relative to optimal range)
Requirements
Expertise in Dynamo Automation Software
A high proficiency in CAD, Inventor, AutCAD & Revit
Proficiency in photoshop or similar image editing software
The ability to review product specifications against current architectural plans to pick up any ambiguity or shop drawing difficulty
Competent written and verbal communication skills
Sound administration, computer and organisational skills
An understanding of the production process
The ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members including management
Professional manner, conduct and presentation
Adaptable, willingness to learn, interested and engaged
Familiarity with preparing files for CNC routing is preferred
