Job Purpose
Solves organizational information problems and requirements by analyzing requirements; designing automation for computer programs; recommending system controls and protocols.
Maintains and manages the System Applications Software of FirstMetroSec.
Major Responsibilities
Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
Designs new computer programs by analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications.
Improves systems by studying current practices; designing modifications.
Recommends controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures.
Defines project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget.
Monitors project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions.
Maintains system protocols by writing and updating procedures.
Writes and maintains application software documentation to include user guides, application changes, known issues, problems and resolutions for future reference; providing help desk support; training users.
Maintains user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Provides technical expertise and recommendations in assessing IT application software and takes lead in application software projects and initiatives;
Troubleshoots application software issues and identifies modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements;
Coordinates with application software vendors and third party software developers on enhancements and issues;
Provides assistance and advice to business users in the effective use of application software;
Coordinates with the System Administrator on application software installation;
Conducts Systems Integration Testing and Oversees User Acceptance Testing;
Provides check and balance to maintain Information security in application software systems.
Performs other tasks that may be assigned by management from time to time
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or any similar course.
Experience: At least 3 years' experience in business and systems analysis functions.
Knowledge: Software Design, Software Documentation, Software Development Process, Software Requirements, Analyzing Information, Software Maintenance, Written Communication, Promoting Process Improvement and Teamwork.
Good background in Data Base design in Microsoft SQL and Access, Microsoft .NET, Visual Basic, HTML Programming, IIS, Web-based technologies and programming and Project Management. * Skills: Broad knowledge of hardware, software and programming, the ability to learn quickly, ability to contribute to a team effort, applies logical approach to problem solving, good interpersonal and client-handling skills, with the ability to manage expectations and explain technical detail, business awareness, a methodical, investigative and inquisitive mind, presentation skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, planning and negotiating skills, initiative and self-confidence, with a keen interest in the way organizational processes work.
Personality: Works well both alone or in a team setting, resourceful, organized, diligent, analytical, team-player, goal-oriented.
