The World Food Programme (WFP) is one of the leading aid agencies responding to Typhoon Rai-affected communities and families. Working alongside government and non-government partners, WFP has been supporting relief efforts, transporting family food packs, hygiene kits and other non-food items. WFP has also enabled emergency responders to quickly communicate and coordinate their response and connectivity by rolling out innovative mobile emergency telecommunications sets.
Over the next six months, WFP will supply lifesaving food aid to 250,000 typhoon-affected people and support emergency coordination and telecommunications to the broader typhoon response. To do so, WFP urgently needs a minimum of US$ 25.8 million in funding. To date, generous contributions have been received from the governments of Brazil, Ireland, and the United States, amongst others, as well as the United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF), and private sector donors.
Strategic outcome 1: Crisis-affected people in the Philippines are able to meet their food and nutrition needs during and immediately after an emergency.
Strategic outcome 2: Women, boys and girls in provinces prioritized by the Government have adequate and healthy diets to reduce malnutrition by 2022 in line with government targets.
Strategic outcome 3: Vulnerable communities in Mindanao have improved food security and nutrition by 2022 in line with government targets.
Strategic outcome 4: National and local government agencies have enhanced capabilities to reduce vulnerability to shocks by 2022.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
The Business Support Assistant will perform administrative functions for Programme Unit and will be reporting directly to the Programme Assistant, with the general supervision of Head of Programmes.
At this level, work is carried out under minimal supervision. The Business Support Assistant (Programme) is expected to produce organized and accurate work, undertaking specific business support activities.
JOB PURPOSE
To deliver standard business support processes for a specific professional area of work, to facilitate effective service delivery.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Within the assigned unit and delegated authority, the Business Support Assistant (Admin) will be responsible for the following duties:
1. Support processing and managing routine administrative, procurement and financial tasks, to contribute to the effective and timely management of Programme Unit resources.
2. Gather information with clear direction to support the drafting of documents and preparing reports by other staff.
3. Respond to queries and escalate where appropriate, to provide a timely and accurate service to clients.
4. Provide revision and proof-reading services for standard documents, to contribute to the development of accurate documentation.
5. Take responsibility for the maintenance of set standard systems and files, to ensure information is accurate and readily available for the function.
6. Identify simple discrepancies in statistics and data, such as missing information, and report to senior staff to support clients to deliver their work.
7. Take responsibility for data integrity to facilitate availability of accurate information in corporate systems.
8. Work with a variety of individuals, taking on feedback where appropriate to assist in business support delivery for staff.
9. Perform other related duties as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: University Graduate with bachelor's degree in business administration or other degree related to the area of work.
Experience: Four or more years of progressively responsible work experience in the relative business stream with experience in general administrative work.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Proficient in the use of office equipment and computer software packages, such as Microsoft Word.
- Knowledge of work routines and methods to complete processes under minimal supervision.
- Uses tact and courtesy to give and receive information to a wide range of individuals.
Language: Fluency in Filipino and English, both oral and written communication
