Miyamoto is expanding its successful disaster risk reduction, preparedness and response work in the Asia Pacific region and is seeking a highly-qualified Business Development Consultant to provide support to work in the Philippines.
Scope of Work
The scope of work includes but is not limited to:
Capture planning for upcoming opportunities
Supporting upstream business development activities, including research and writing
Support to identifying Philippines-based partners in the architecture, engineering and construction sector with experience working on multilateral and government projects
Supporting activities to build partnerships and brand awareness, including representational duties and presentations
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have solid knowledge of the disaster risk reduction and resilience landscape (commercial across architecture/engineering/construction and international development & humanitarian assistance), high-level political awareness and good knowledge of key public actors in the Philippines, including Public Works and PHIVOLCS.
Basic qualifications include:
Sound experience (7+ years) in business development, outreach and market stakeholder mapping activities.
Past success in identifying and executing partnership opportunities across public and private actors in the Philippines.
High-level political awareness & deep knowledge of the disaster risk reduction and resilience market (public and private) in the Philippines
Fluency in English and Filipino
Ability to successfully execute high-level and strategic tasks with remote supervision.
Self-starter with a "start-up" mentality, a high degree of initiative, professionalism and integrity.
Excellent communicator and representative, able to present effectively to high-level government and private sector officials.
Ability and willingness to work in a flexible and dynamic organization.
