Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Security Officer, lead the IT Disaster Recovery Program, including leading the design, implementation, and communication of the IT DR activities and processes that ensure the integrity and availability of company data, databases, information systems, and technology.
Perform risk analysis to identify critical technology operations and systems that are core to continued business operations in the event of a catastrophic event.
Monitor, coordinate, and lead testing of IT DR Recovery Plans and backup systems.
Lead the development and delivery of training, documentation, and communication of DR procedures across the Arch Reinsurance segment and its affiliates.
Lead the IT DR Program ensuring it's suitable, workable, and maintained/updated to reflect relevant changes across the entities globally.
Maintain DR governance processes, policies, procedures, and best practices that help keep all DR Program components aligned, current, relevant, actionable, and auditable.
Lead and drive IT DR testing activities with application and infrastructure owners.
Collaborate with IT operational teams to advance the IT DR Program maturity ensuring replication occurs and processes are active, efficient and effective.
Participate in providing assurance of outsourced providers DR contractual provisions and validate testing through a rigorous review and challenge process.
Lead process to identify and document gaps/risks and impacts, make recommendations and help drive the development of robust recovery strategies.
Lead process to monitor and report on actual recovery time and point KPIs/KRIs relative to RTO and RPO, including assess and audit Disaster Recovery plan and test protocols, and change management methodology.
Interface with suppliers and vendors as needed to evaluate software, hardware or services and makes recommendations.
Work close with the Business Continuity Team and assist as necessary with the technical elements of the BIA/BCP process.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years direct experience leading and running disaster recovery programs.
Technical Disaster Recovery related certifications (DRII, BCI, ISC2, ISACA).
Experience working with and building effective Technology Resiliency and Disaster Recovery criteria and plans in automated solutions (SaaS).
Experience with resilient system architecture, High Availability, Hybrid-Cloud and emerging technology solutions.
Cyber Resiliency and Ransomware a plus.
Required Skills/Experience
Broad expertise in business continuity and disaster recovery.
Demonstrated experience in supporting and building/implementing enhancements for an Enterprise-wide IT Disaster Recovery Program.
Knowledge of modern IT DRP and BCMP concepts and leading practices including experience with cloud based infrastructure.
Strong interpersonal, influence and communication skills (written/verbal/presentation) at multiple levels and across boundaries; appropriately shares viewpoint and encourages the free exchange of information and opinions.
Demonstrated ability to work successfully within a geographically distributed team and to build effective working relationships.
Excellent project management, planning and organizational skills.
Effective strategic planning and decision making abilities
Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Security, or related field.
