One of the largest global transportation services companies is seeking a Business Application Consultant to be part of its high-performing application support team. In this job, you will work together with the business application management team that is responsible for a diverse IT-application landscape that supports a 24x7 global business.
About the Business Application Consultant Role:
The Business Application Consultant will be part of the team that delivers IT services that include business analysis, projects, data and analytics and application support.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure efficient and timely technical/functional support on applications to minimise adverse impacts to the business
Link business procedures and processes to application functionalities and configurations
Identify bugs (root cause analyses), track progress toward solutions with appropriate parties, test solutions, and communicate the status to interested parties
Develop productive working relationships with key business stakeholders to maintain an open dialogue on issues and solution progress
Create application (functional/technical) support documentation for common support issues and first time fixes for the level one support team
Provide training to the level one team where appropriate
The successful Business Application Consultant is expected to provide excellent customer service to the application users by adhering to the standard support procedures.
Key Requirements:
College diploma or university degree in management information systems, computer science and/or business administration
At least three years of work experience in a process or application support role in which combining business and IT was an important aspect
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment preferably with experience in working in an international environment
Preference: experience in applications (BASSnet FMS/ BASSnet HR manager/ IMOS/ Veslink)
Preference: experience in SQL and database maintenance
