SUMMARY:
At Northern Trust, data drives all of our decision-making, and HR is no exception. The HR Data and Analytics team pioneers Northern Trust's approach to talent strategy and organizational growth. As a member of the team, you will play an important role in helping our HR department address the people-related data and analytical needs of internal clients across the globe.
Supporting the team as a software business analyst, you will be providing business and technical support for the HR Data and Analytics team in gathering requirements for our evolving reporting and analytics infrastructure as we move to a cloud-based environment. This may be an entry level position with opportunity to develop professionally.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Prepares or modifies business requirements to be used for the development of functional and system specifications for reporting and analytics.
Act as a bridge between HR and Technology for the requirements.
Assist in the development of training and change management materials.
May provide assistance and train others.
Coordinates testing of new systems and systems modifications.
Prepares materials and manuals, and provides training to partners related to system or process changes.
Performs research to achieve problem resolution.
Running and creating formal and ad hoc reports.
Responsible for identifying and resolving problems within established guidelines.
Expected to use some initiative but refer more complex problems to supervisors/experts.
Works effectively as a team member but also independently.
Provides support in project coordination across different stakeholders.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge in SQL or other scripting languages used in data transformation
Strong project leadership and presenting skills, ability to prioritize across teams and functions
A strong understanding of data needs for analysis and business performance management
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is preferred
Familiarity with Workday Reporting or any BU solution is preferred
