Major Functions:
An IP VSAT engineer must be well versed on the operations of the different standards in the satellite communication and networking environment. He/ She must also be well inform on the fundamentals of monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, collaborating with network architects on network optimization. Capable of doing spontaneous solution to unexpected problems & issues and critically analyze & check the root cause & devise a definitive solution. Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform routine equipment maintenance to prevent equipment failures and to ensure that all equipment are in good operating condition.
Operates the IP VSAT HUB. Sets up and operates various VSAT HUB & RF equipment.
Coordinates with the satellite operations center for the registration of VSAT remote terminals.
Configuration of Inbound & Outbound link QoS/Traffic shaping.
Coordination with 3rd Party local installer & integrator of VSAT remote terminals.
Perform routine equipment maintenance to prevent equipment failures and to ensure that all equipment are in good operating condition.
Tests the compliance and aligns new equipment prior to installation in the facility.
Provides operational assistance/instruction to others as needed.
Conduct immediate action when failure occurs.
Prepares and maintains various technical records and engineering logs pertaining to broadcast equipment performance and discrepancies according to regulations. Generate weekly & monthly reports
Coordinates with third party/equipment vendors for the analysis & repair of equipment for more in-depth trouble shooting & correction. (level 3 troubleshooting - VSAT remote terminals)
Plan, create & implements new system applications & operating procedures to further improve current system operation.
Developing and using awareness of best practice in health and safety for the workplace.
Applicant should be either an ECE or Advance IT graduate. (Professional PRC Licensed for ECE applicant is an advantage)
With or without in the field of Satellite Communication and Networking environment.
Knowledgeable in 24x7 operations of Headend facility.
Knowledgeable in diverse computing environments (Windows, Linux and Unix) and computer network technology (LAN, WAN).
Must be computer-literate & proficient in MS Office Applications and good in creating technical reports.

Ability to work with minimal supervision either independently or as part of a team in a rapidly changing technical environment.
Ability to plan and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and resolve problems.

Has good housekeeping habits.
Possession of Professional Driver's License (Advantage)
