This is a remote position.
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with expertise in Xero, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing invoices and payments, processing payroll, and ensuring compliance with NDIS funding requirements.
Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using Xero accounting software.
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly documented and organized.
Accounts Receivable:
- Prepare and send invoices to clients or customers.-
- Follow up on overdue payments and reconcile accounts receivable.
Accounts Payable:
- Process incoming invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payment.
- Maintain vendor relationships and resolve any payment discrepancies.
Payroll Processing:
- Accurately calculate and process employee payroll, including taxes and deductions.
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or electronic transfers.
- Stay up-to-date with payroll tax regulations and compliance.
NDIS Compliance:
- Familiarity with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) guidelines and funding requirements.
- Ensure that NDIS-related financial transactions and reporting are in compliance with regulations.
Financial Reporting:
- Generate and analyze financial reports as needed, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements for audits or reviews.
Data Entry and Reconciliation:
- Maintain accurate and organized financial data, including reconciling bank and credit card statements.
- Identify and rectify discrepancies in financial records.
Expense Tracking:
- Monitor and track company expenses, ensuring they align with the budget.
- Prepare expense reports for management review.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other team members, including accountants and management, to provide financial information and support.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry best practices, accounting regulations, and NDIS requirements.
- Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred).
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably with knowledge of Xero.
Understanding of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll processes.
Familiarity with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance standards.
