JOB SUMMARY
Kippap is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our finance team. As a Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting the company's financial operations. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Kippap is an innovative, early-stage EdTech startup focused on creating resources to help students prepare for standardized tests. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Record Financial Transactions: Accurately record all financial transactions, including income, expenses, and bank deposits, in the company's accounting system.
Maintain General Ledger: Maintain and update the general ledger by posting journal entries and reconciling accounts to ensure accuracy
- Accounts Payable: Process and manage accounts payable by verifying invoices, obtaining approvals, and making timely payments to vendors.
- Accounts Receivable: Manage accounts receivable by invoicing customers, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank statements and credit card statements with the company's financial records to identify discrepancies.
- Payroll Processing: Calculate and process employee payroll, including deductions, taxes, and benefits, in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns (income tax, sales tax, payroll tax, etc.) accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws.
- Financial Audits: Assist with internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation and answering auditors' questions.
- Data Entry: Enter financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets with a highlevel of accuracy.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain organized and well-documented financial records, both in digital and physical formats.
Compliance and Regulations: Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and accounting standards to ensure the company remains in compliance.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Xero is a plus.
