JOB DESCRIPTION FOR A BOOKKEEPER

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper with relevant experience and proficiency in Xero, a cloud-based accounting software. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
The successful candidate will help build the client's best practice process to streamline his workflow and systematize the business.
As a Bookkeeper:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a similar discipline is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 4-5 years of proven experience in bookkeeping or related financial roles.
• Proficiency in using Xero and Quickbooks software is essential.
• Demonstrated experience in all bookkeeping tasks, including Activity Statements (IAS and BAS) and payroll
• Good level of spoken and written English
• With a positive and professional attitude to work
• Willing to learn and grow with the company
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other relevant software.
Your Responsibilities as a Bookkeeper:
• Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, expense reports, and general ledger entries.
• Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and other financial documents to ensure accuracy.
• Utilize Xero software to perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, invoicing, and financial reporting.
• Ensure the proper setup and configuration of Xero accounts to optimize efficiency.
• Process invoices, track payments, and manage vendor relationships.
• Prepare and send invoices to clients, monitor accounts receivable, and follow up on outstanding payments
• Generate financial statements, reports, and summaries on a regular basis.
• Provide insights into financial data to support informed decision-making.
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts to ensure accurate representation of financial transactions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of tax documents and financial audits.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to address financial inquiries and provide necessary documentation.
