Job Description
Basic Operator - Packing Hall (New Line)
Job Purpose and Key Accountabilities
1. Material Preparation
Works with Machine Operator to ensures timely processing of requests for raw and packaging materials from Production Services (PS) Department for the scheduled batch to be run by preparing and submitting the Material Issuance Authority (MIA) form to the Production Supervisor/Manager on-duty for approval and transmitting the form to Production Services for materials withdrawal.
Receives raw/packaging materials issued by Production Services and conducts checking of quality and quantity. Informs Production Services personnel on-duty for any deviation.
Collects and returns of excess materials at the end of production run based on established Quality Policy standards.
2. Start-up/Shut Down Procedures
Executes production start-up and shut down activities by assisting the Machine Operator to carry out pre-start-up checks to ensure that the area and equipment is clean and is in safe condition as per SOP.
Ensures production start-up is done accurately and on-time every change over.
Ensure shut down activities are carried out in time every planned shutdown.
Cleaning - performs cleaning and disinfection activities of the production area as per established SOPs. This covers cleaning and disinfection during start-up, flavor change, pack size change over, and close out (deep cleaning).
Performs disassembly of equipment parts due to cleaning and re-assembly prior to start-up of assigned filling line and its accessories.
Alerts Machine Operator and Production Supervisor to potential sources of contamination and dirt identified in accessible places.
Equipment Set-up - assists the Machine Operator in doing on-time and correct equipment set-up prior to production run following established SOPs.
Adheres to Safety and Quality Policies of the Company by following SOPs and/or work instructions that ensures safety of people and quality of products during production run.
Performs, together with Machine Operator, Cleaning, Inspection, Lubrication and Tightening (or CILT) of assigned line/area.
3. Production Run
Responsible for the replenishment / refilling of raw and packaging materials directly required by the Ice Cream Filling Machines compliant to the standards of Safety and Quality. (Specific to Basic Operators deployed in Packing Lines)
Responsible for dumping of Mix Raw Materials in the Mixers based on standards on Quality and Food Safety (Specific to Basic Operators deployed in Mix Plant)
Ensures all finished goods are produced within product standards and CRQS (Consumer Relevant Quality Standards) and micro specifications by conducting, together with Machine Operator, process control testing of products such as overrun, weights, pre and post hardening temperatures, and others.
Provide secondary assistance to Machine Operator in coordinating and addressing any equipment breakdown with Factory Maintenance (FM) Team for prompt corrective actions.
Monitors wastes and prepares Waste Monitoring Report to account for all line losses during his/her shift.
4. Post-production Run
Conducts, together with Machine Operator, proper close-out activities after each production run, activities include:
Correct and safe shutdown of all equipment and accessories.
Dismantling and cleaning of all appropriate parts and fittings.
Collecting, counting, and recording all excess raw and packaging materials. Documents this by accomplishing the Return MIA (Material Issuance Authority) and returns the excess material to Production Services Department based on agreed quality standards.
Submits to Production Supervisor the Waste Report Monitoring for consolidation
5. Other Tasks
Immediately reports to Production Supervisor and/or Production Manager any incidents concerning safety, quality, and efficiency encountered in his/her assigned line/area.
Monitors Operational Pre-Requisite Program (OPRP)
Performs other related tasks in in the operations of Packing Hall and/or Mix plant that may be assigned from time to time.
Role Requirements
Fresh graduate of vocational or technical course or equivalent work experience of 1 year in production operations, preferably in food manufacturing.
Reading and comprehension, writing and mathematical skills (This will support recording of data and general teamwork skills with emphasis on good communication).
Committed team worker with strong sense of responsibility and good attention to details.
Effective inter-personal communication skills and an agile mind. This will support ability to communicate observations or problems encountered in the line/area and propose solutions through Kaizen Projects to address them.
