DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintaining an accurate record of baking operations.
Manage needed supplies and inventory levels.
Ensure products are in good standards.
Decorate baked products using glaze, icing and other toppings to achieve a finished appearance.
Assess the quality of raw materials before baking.
Conduct research to develop original recipes for products.
Ensure the proper storage of baking utensils.
Utilizes all leftovers into usable products.
Develops new product.
Measures or weigh flour or other ingredients to prepare batters, doughs, fillings, or whipped cream, using scales or graduated containers.
Maintains adequate supply of all prepared products on hand and ensures the proper storage and refrigeration.
Keeps spoilage/waste to a minimum by ordering and utilizing proper quantities and rotating products.
REQUIREMENTS:
At least 2 or 3 years of experience as baker
Bread baker and certification from culinary is a plus.
Creative skills.
Detail-oriented.
Flexibility to work around customer demand.
Ability to work with team members to solve problems.
Good planning skills
Ability to lift heavy items for an extended time.
Ability to read and follow recipes.
Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders, and dough sheeters.
Understanding of food safety practices
Experience with cake decoration techniques
Excellent time-management skills
Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.
Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
Flexibility to work in early morning shifts.
