Job Description:
We currently have an open position for a .Net developer who'll work on one of our most important products with a healthy user base and strong demand for growth. This is a .Net product based on industry-standard tools and frameworks, offering a real opportunity to grow as a developer.
As a .NET developer, you will be reporting to the team lead and will have the following responsibilities:
Working with the team lead to capture and understand the requirements and designing, implementing, and testing applications.
Software testing (automated) and peer reviews
Taking part in developing automated tests and peer reviews.
Create and maintain functional and technical design documentation
Contributing to creating and maintaining functional and technical documentation.
Use source code control for software changes
Following good git practices
Use of JIRA for documentation and tracking of software issues
Using JIRA effectively for agile development
Provide technical support to internal and external customers. Help testers and support personnel as needed to identify, replicate, and resolve system problems
Helping and guiding external and internal technical teams and testers to identify and solve problems.
Build working relationships with other team members
Working in collaboration with other team members in a polite, respectful, and considerate manner.
Learn and evolve existing code bases
Learning existing code bases and helping the team to improve both the code and the technology used in our products.
Efficiently processing and performing all jobs without continual assistance from a supervisor
Taking ownership of tasks and improving the ability to perform them independently.
Requirements:
As a software developer we expect you to have:
Proficient in software design and development
An understanding of SOLID principles and experience of following them.
7+ years' experience working in .NET Development
Experience with design and development of REST API or SOAP API
Knowledge and experience of REST API development and use
Experience in creating REST API documentation using Swagger and YAML or similar tools desirable
Experience with Swagger/OpenAPI (desirable)
Experience with JSON and XML processing, common practices, libraries and tools.
Experience with Security frameworks (e.g., JWT, OATH2)
An understanding of web based authentication/authorisation protocols, namely OAuth
Experience with JavaScript and Shell scripting
Experience with git and its common workflows
Microsoft Azure Cloud services
Knowledge and experience of Azure
The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), specifically Scrum and Agile methodology
Experience with the use of agile methodologies throughout the SDLC, and a strong willingness to follow them, specifically Scrum.
As a smart data company, we'd also expect you to have:
Create databases with efficient structures
Knowledge of relational data modeling and experience in relational database use
Write optimized queries, views, stored procedures, and triggers for integration with other applications
Ability to write SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and triggers
Proficient in SQL query optimization
At least a basic understanding of SQL query optimization, and willingness to improve this skill.
Maintain high standards of data quality and integrity
Constant attention to achieving high standards of data quality and integrity.
Understand issues related to network performance and security
Constant awareness of and consideration for issues related to network performance and security
