Job Description
This position is full-time and reports directly to the CTO. This position is responsible for all development aspects of our backend systems.
Gain a full understanding of the current architecture and systems involved in the software product
Maintaining a calendar of the backend related events/deadlines
Communicating priority of tasks based on product success and upper managements requirements
Monitor and communicate external dependency changes that affect the backend
Keep up to date with the latest technologies that affect the backend
Create internal documentation for other developers/engineers on the backends functionality and issues
Create software tools that assist production and support of the product
Provide time estimates on software development/maintenance tasks
Develop testing standards and processes
Maintain existing documentation with ongoing changes and create new documentation that reflects design changes or enhancements
Cataloging and record keeping of issues, request and enhancements in bug tracking system
Assist in diagnosing and resolving support staff elevated issues of live systems
Maintain entire backend with at least an uptime of 96%
Document, code, test, deploy, support, and maintain
Qualifications
Holding a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field; or 4+ years of related work experience
Experienced with
Docker - >= 1 year
NodeJS >= 2 years
MySQL >= 3 years
basic understanding of cryptography - including but not limited to JWT/RSA
Open API 3.0 >= 1 year
Linux - administration >= 1 year
Postman >= 1 year
Docker Hub
git/github >= 3 years
strong documentation skills (UML, database modeling)
strong independent problem-solving skills
strong communication/presentation skills - will need to be able to convey technical nuances to less technical audiences
strong project management skills
ability to estimate project durations given a set of requirements using COCOMO or similar
