Job Title: Australian Accountant
Job Responsibilities:
Drive the operations of our finance function as a Business Unit Manager
Overseeing our local bookkeeping partner based in Australia, who is responsible for bookkeeping, supplier payments & payroll
Preparation and lodgment of monthly/quarterly BAS/IAS Returns and Payroll Tax Returns
Manage the budget and forecasting process, complete P&L and cashflow report for senior management
Manage statutory requirements (including but not limited to Income Tax returns, Payroll Tax, Workcover, and Superannuation)
Monitor and report on monthly operating performance achieved against budgeted and standard figures
Analyze current operating performance, using previous and estimated costs to assist management in determining potential/estimated performance
Additional ad hoc duties as required by the business
Job Qualifications:
CPA is preferred but not required
At least 6 years of overall experience with at least 4 years in Australian accounting handling tasks for Australian entities (CFO/Company)
End-to-end accounting experience - bank reconciliation, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processing, Month-end closing and month end reports preparation
With experience in preparation and filing of Activity Statements (IAS/BAS) and Payroll Tax Return
With Experience in preparation and filing of payroll, superannuation, PAYGW and STP
Experience in managing or working with team members
Very technology savvy
Previous experience in Management or Financial Accounting roles
A great communicator, enabling you to form strong relationships with stakeholders on all levels
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and follow-through skills to meet compliance deadlines
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Strong voice in the leadership team - combined with a collaborative team-first approach
Excellent attention to detail combined with great problem-solving abilities
Proven ability to drive continuous improvement
