Our Australian client, Bentleys, a leading mid tier accounting firm from Australia is looking for looking for experienced Australian tax compliance accountants to join their team.
About the role
As a senior accountant joining our team, you will be required to work independently attending to the tax compliance needs of our clients. The main responsibilities of this role will include:
Preparation of financial statements and tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies and trusts
Processing and reconciling provision for tax, capital gains, depreciation, Div 7A, UPE, rental schedules and other more advanced Australian accounting concepts
Reconciliation of client files, identifying issues and opportunities for improvement
Compilation of PDF and excel workpapers, through to end of job client correspondence and signing documents
Assisting on other business advisory work for clients within your portfolio, including, tax planning, fringe benefits tax, payroll assistance, management accounts, and other adhoc tasks
Mentoring and training of junior and intermediate accountants
Communication with Australian team members in respect of queries and review points
About the Person
The role will suit an experienced accountant who is looking for the next step in their Australian accounting professional career. Additionally, the successful candidate will have:
At least three (3) years of experience as an accountant with an Australian accounting firm in a role that includes preparation of tax returns and reconciling accounting income to taxable income.
Experience in Xero, MYOB, Quickbooks, APS, Handisoft or equivalent Australian tax compliance software
Knowledge and experience with more advanced Australian tax concepts like Div7A, UPE, and completion of tax compliance work for large family groups with multiple entities
Strong written and verbal English communication skills for communicating with our Australian professional staff and clients
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Effective task and time management skills, awareness of job budgets and productivity targets
High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality
A positive attitude and the desire to contribute to a high performing team
Ability work independently and effectively without strict supervision

Bentleys Manila team - Our Manila team started in 2019 with a small team handling SMSF compliance work. The team has grown in subsequent years with accountants supporting our business services, audit and corporate recovery teams. We currently have 60+ staff in our Philippines team with further growth to come in 2024. We are looking to hire another 20 accountants to join our team by February 2024 with a mix of senior, intermediate and junior roles available.
