PRIMARY FUNCTION We are looking for an experienced, qualified Accountant to do the full accounting of our Australian entity including handling of the tax returns and BAS lodgements.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: * Accurate and timely preparation o PRIMARY FUNCTION We are looking for an experienced, qualified Accountant to do the full accounting of our Australian entity including handling of the tax returns and BAS lodgements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Accurate and timely preparation of tax work papers and returns Assisting with lodgement to the ATO within lodgement timeframes Completion of IAS and BAS returns before the ATO due date Reconciling and reviewing accounts in a timely manner Preparation, finalisation and tracking of client invoices Monitoring, and follow-up of invoice collections Daily bank reconciliations Processing of vendor payments Preparation of key financial and non-financial reports used by management Preparation of Financial Statements including General Ledger Analysis and Trial Balance reconciliations, including consolidation of subsidiaries Ad-hoc assistance to the accounting team as required PERSONAL SKILLS & QUALITIES: Good English communication skills, both written and verbal Strong Problem-Solving Skills Strong time management with a sense of urgency Strong and High Attention to details and documentation High energy, team orientated Excellent management / organisational skills Precise, accurate, attention to detail a must Ability to quickly adapt and provide resolutions Ability to deliver in a fast and efficient in an accurate manner and within TAT Ability to work unsupervised and must have initiative/self starter Must have the ability to multitask in a dynamic business environment Must demonstrate initiative and a 'can do' attitude - solutions-oriented and results focused SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Excellent written and spoken English Willing to work Australian hours Knowledge of the Australian Tax System and Legislation Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) Advanced knowledge of Gmail / Google Doc, Sheets, Mail, Calendar Experience with Australian businesses is preferred QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Min 3 to 5 years' experience in Public Practice in Australian Tax (Income Tax and GST) Must have knowledge using Xero Willing to take initiative on tasks when the opportunity arises Willing to make suggestions or create efficiencies if they think there is a smarter way of doing things.
