About the RoleAn exciting opportunity is available for a skilled Bookkeeper / Assistant Accountant to join a progressive and fast-growing business within the Australian real estate and property development sector. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys working across multiple projects, and takes pride in maintaining financial accuracy and compliance. You'll play a key part in supporting business operations, client relationships, and ongoing financial success.Key Responsibilities
Handle daily bookkeeping tasks: accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards, taxation rules, and reporting requirements.
Prepare and maintain timely, accurate financial statements, cash flow reports, and management accounts.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Act as a client-facing liaison: present financial updates, respond to queries, and provide advisory support.
Collaborate with leadership, development, and operations teams to align financials with project execution.
Maintain and optimize workflows within Resly and PropertyMe, ensuring data integrity and reliable reporting.
Assist with financial projects, including analysis, reporting, and implementation support.
Support ad hoc reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and administrative tasks.
Other Ad Hoc Tasks: Perform additional duties as required to support the finance and operations teams.
Requirements
2-3 years of bookkeeping experience within the real estate or property development sector.
Proven, hands-on experience with Resly and PropertyMe (preferred).
Xero Certification or strong Xero expertise (required).
Strong understanding of Australian taxation, compliance, and reporting frameworks.
Experience in property management accounting, including trust accounts, reconciliations, and rental income.
Excellent proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets, with strong data analysis skills.
Strong client-facing communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage ad hoc requests and shifting priorities with professionalism.
