Job Purpose
As Assistant Procurement Manager for Liquid Oils (SEAA & NEA), you directly oversee the buying of key vegetable oils (55Kmt and $70m spend) and ensure material delivery into key brands that are part of the Nutrition BG & BU (Hellman's etc).
Selected individual must collaborate with different stakeholders on different levels throughout Unilever, such as R+D, Finance and others in Asia. This includes but is not limited to developing the procurement strategy, execute sourcing activities, market research, negotiations and relationship management with suppliers, benchmarking activities, contracts management,and responsible sourcing initiatives with the suppliers.
The role reports to the Procurement Manager SEAA and NEA Liquid oils led by the Global Procurement Director, Liquid Oils.
Key Accountabilities
Material Strategy:Formulate and execute global sourcing strategy for Liquid Oils in SEAA and NEA region for the Nutrition BU.
Competitive Buying:Deliver buying performance, initiatebuying productivity projectsand strategic cash initiatives. Collaborate and support CRM expansion. Leverage market intelligence and benchmarks to drive negotiations.
Sustainability & Regenerative Agriculture: Ensure 100% compliance to Unilever NDPE policies. Sustainable Sourcing for all Liquid Oils including Soybean Oil, Canola oil (ISCC), Tropical Oils (specialized fats / oils specific to Nutrition).
Value Chain: Work directly with the team in evaluating, proposing & executing key value-chain integration programs including Backward Integration.
Partnerships:Manage key supplier relationshipsvia a regular interaction framework, factory visits, gathering on-the-ground market intelligence and sharing insights with the broader team for end-to-end procurement strategy formulation.
Superior Availability: Regularly review supplier capacities and capabilities develop new, long term sustainable sources of supply. Scan market to establish new suppliers to support resilience strategy.
Operational Excellence: ensure 100% adherence to compliance requirements, including RSP, SQA. Provide strategic business information in portfolio forecast cycles.
Business Partnering:Collaborate with market teams, R&D MET, BUs and BG.
Role Requirements
Ability to work under pressure and in a complex environment, effectively translating business needs and requirements into a strategic procurement approach.
Strong negotiation skills for complex contracts and innovations, with relevant experience in Supply Chain.
Comfortable working cross-functionally across teams with varying priorities.
Strategic and creative thinking and medium/long term view, with a business vision.
Results-driven and strong analytical capability, backed by a strong ethical behavior.
Ability to present and explain complex ideas to a senior audience with strong communication skills
Understanding of financial aspects related to procurement activities (spend, payment term impacts, savings and cost avoidance, P&L, etc.).
